HBS CLUB OF TORONTO CENTENNIAL GALA
A Special Toronto Celebration of the First 100 Years of HBS and the First 40 Years of the HBS Club of Toronto
June 11, 2008 (5:30-9pm) @ The York Club
Please join us on June 11, 2008 from 5:30p-9p to for a special celebration of the HBS Centennial in Toronto! While our previous Leadership Award dinners have celebrated individual business leaders in the Toronto community, this year's honoree will be you -- the ~1000 local alumni of the Harvard Business School and the profound effect you have had on Toronto and the world.
| The evening will begin with a talk by well-known HBS Professor Stefan Thomke, Chair of the MBA program, who will speak to us on the topic: "Experimentation Matters: Unlocking the Potential of New Technologies for Innovation in Canada." |
 |
Following Professor Thomke's talk, drinks and dinner will be served, and we will enjoy several surprise festivities to make the celebration worthy of an event which happens only once a century!
| The entire evening will be hosted at the famous York Club, a perfect place for us to celebrate 100 years of management history. Originally built in 1892 as a mansion for George Gooderham, President of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery, the York Club has been a centre for the congregation of business leaders in Toronto since its founding in 1910, just two years after HBS was founded. We will have the entire first floor of the mansion and the grounds to ourselves. |
 |
In light of the Centennial celebration, our goal is to have in attendance as many HBS alumni in the Toronto area as possible. We hope you will decide to join us on June 11, 2008. Open to all HBS alumni and their guests only.
Note: Our goal for this event is participation by as many alumni as possible. As such, the Club itself is subsidizing the cost of this event. (The prices above are below cost.) We hope that will encourage everyone to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration!
